When WordPress Thinks My Plugin Belongs to Someone Else

I build WordPress plugins, and it still amazes me that a custom plugin can be offered an update just because another plugin has the same name. No author check. No proper identity check. Just name matching nonsense. It is the 21st century. This should not still be happening. Also, I am still waiting for my WordPress.org developer account approval. It sucks.

I made a small WordPress plugin called Comment Notifications. It emails you when your comment gets approved or when I reply.
Notifications are on by default, with an easy opt-out in the comment form.

Soon available to download for free.
